TOBA BATAK TRADITIONAL FOODS: TOP 7 YOU SHOULD TRY

Having previously I have discussed the 7 most beautiful beaches in North Sumatra, this time I will discuss the most famous traditional food among the Batak Toba. Not complete if visiting the North Sumatra if you have not enjoyed the typical food Batak is very tasty and popular. Batak typical food that you should try, because the food typical of batak has a taste that is very tasty and delicious. The rich taste and flavor of North Sumatra are the reason. Batak typical food is quite easy to find especially in the entire region of North Sumatra. Here are 7 lists of typical Batak food you should try when you coming to visit North Sumatra.

1. ARSIK

Arsik is one of Batak typical food that is presented at the most during traditional events. This dish is also known as the yellow spice goldfish. Goldfish is the main ingredient, which in its preparation is not removed its scales. Batak typical food has a spicy warm taste that makes the tongue feel vibrate. No wonder this dish has its own characteristics and is also very much popular.

This food is made from fish such as goldfish, parrot fish, and mujahir fish. Uniquely these fish are caught directly from Lake Toba. To create a distinctive taste and aroma, usually cook this fish is added with andaliman and cikala acid (kecombrang fruit), in addition to the distinctive flavor archipelago are common, such as galangal and lemongrass. The smoothed spices are smeared on the body of the fish for a while. The fish is then cooked with a little oil and a small flame until it dries slightly. Arsik can be served with a sauce or a little dry.

Dali ni Horbo or Bagot ni Horbo is a buffalo milk which is processed traditionally and is typical of Batak food from Tapanuli area. The food is very much sought after because this food is very natural and does not contain chemicals. This buffalo milk is traditionally processed and easy to find in the Batak area. Same with the other milk, buffalo milk also contains fat, carbohydrates and protein.




3. DAUN UBI TUMBUK

Furthermore, the most delicious and popular Batak traditional food is the leaves mashed tubers. This food becomes a favorite vegetable that many found in restaurants Batak. It is said that the leaves of tubers into vegetables are the easiest to get because just putting the wood alone will appear tuber leaves.
 

This Batak food is made from tuber leaves are pounded and mixed with chili, onion, garlic, lemongrass and also rimbang fruit. Rimbang fruit is the characteristic of tuber leaves that contained in the Batak area. Because if it cooked it tastes much better than eaten raw. All the ingredients are boiled and after almost cooked mixed with coconut milk.

4. DENGKE MAS NA NIURA

Na Niura also has a taste that is not less delicious with the actual sushi. Na Niura usually slightly more acidic because it is for the maturation process using acid.

The difference of na Niura is not cooked, fried or boiled. The food made from goldfish, parrot fish or mujahir fish is served with a complete seasoning so that makes the fish more tasty without cooking. In other words, that the seasoning that cooks the fish.

5. MANUK NAPINADAR

Manuk napinadar is also one of the typical Batak food that is also delicious and popular. This food also has a characteristic of andaliman seasoning. Manuk napinadar become one of favorite food in Batak area because of its uniqueness.

This food is made from Chicken that is burned and then seasoned and mixed with the fresh blood of the chicken itself with the right process of maturity. It would be more delicious if made with a bit spicy and can also be adjusted to your taste.

6. MIE GOMAK

Batak typical food this one is usually also called by the name of Toba spaghetti and is a typical culinary in Sibolga and Tapanuli. The shape is similar to a stick. The mention was given because the shape is similar to Italian spaghetti. It can be served with sauce or can also be eaten like eating fried noodles. Noodles that have been boiled usually made separately with soup and chili sauce. This food is my favorite food. And usually, when I'm hanging out with a big family, my mom always makes it.


7. SAKSANG

The last of Batak typical food, namely Saksang. Batak typical food is quite different because it cannot be enjoyed for the Muslims because the materials used are pork and dog meat. Nevertheless, it does not make the Batak food typical of receding fans.
Batak typical food is cooked with a special spice that is almost similar to the napinadar seasoning and the cooking process was also with the blood of the meat itself. Usually, saksang contains more meat than fat. Characteristic of this food using andaliman that creates a hot, spicy taste that can shake the tongue.
